Circut Circle Weekly Challenge #29: Handmade Flower Challenge!

The Challenge: Handcraft a flower using your Cricut and/or Cuttlebug machine and use it on your project.

I made this card using April Showers Circut Cartridge for the flower pot. I cut the flower layer 4 times at different sizes for a layered effect. I tied shrinky dinks that I cut & printed using Lori's Garden Imagine Cartridge around the pot. The paper is all DCWV. Thanks for stopping by!

Shrinky Dinks!

I have been seeing printable shrinky dinks all over the place lately, & I thought it looked so fun! I really wanted to give it a try & now I am addicted! I thought it would be cool to make toggles for my Gypsy stylus & Imagine stylus. For my Gypsy I used two cuts from Imagine More Cards, because I couldn't decide on just one!  For my Imagine I used a cut from Nursery Tails. I used a deep housing blade to cut, I'm not sure if it was dull or what, but I had to multiple cut it 9 times to get it cut all the way through. I have feeling that is not what you would normally have to do.  I just think shrinky dinks are so cool used with the imagine, like I said I am addicted now! Thanks for stopping by!

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #27: Make a Game Plan Challenge!

This Week's Challenge: Create your own sketch (card/layout) and then make a project with it. You will need to upload both images this week, the sketch and the project. Your sketch doesn’t need to be anything fancy, it can be something you scribbled down on a piece of scratch paper that you took a picture of, but we should be able to see your sketch apparent in your project design.

Here is my sketch. I have never created a sketch before so it isn't very fancy. I used Microsoft Paint to make it. I cheated a little, because I first decided the cuts I wanted to use and then I created the sketch.

Here is what I came up with. The Cricut Cartridges that I used are April Showers & Create A Critter. I printed all of my papers using my Imagine & the Blossom pattern cartridge. The Cricut cuts are:

April Showers
Tree & Trunk layer- 3.70"
Squirrel & layer- 1.39"
Cloud- 1.42"
Flowers- .73"

Create A Critter
Grass- .57"

I knew when I got the April Showers cartridge that I had to make something with that squirrel, I just thought that it was so cute. I covered up the original flower it was holding with a bigger one. Both of the squirrels are the same cut, but I flipped one and cut off it's flower.

A couple of days ago, I got a Teresa Collins Stampmaker from HSN. The stamp on the front of the card and the personalized stamp on the back of the card are both stamps that I created in inkscape and then made into stamps with the Stampmaker. It is so much fun and so cool to make my own stamps. I love it!

Cricut Circle Weekly Challenge #24: St. Paddy’s Challenge!

The Challenge: Use rainbow colors OR a monochromatic green color scheme on your project. We also want to see you add a touch of gold somewhere on your project.
I decided to do the monochromatic green with touches of gold. I made this card for my step dad, his birthday is on St. Patrick's Day! It is a 4.5" easel card. The Cricut cartridges I used are:

Celebrate With Flourish
Shamrocks with flourish- 3"
Paper Dolls Dress Up
Shamrock- 1.5"

I used paper from DCWV Green Tea, Cotton Bloom, Gone Wild, & Dots, Stripes & Plaids stacks. I used Paper Trey Ink cardstock.

Happy St. Patrick's Day!
